Applications:

1. In the glass industry, gadolinium oxide is specially used as a component of high refractive index glass. The use of gadolinium oxide and lanthanum helps to change the vitrified region and improve the thermal stability of the glass.

2. The nuclear industry is used in nuclear reactor control rods, neutron absorption materials in atomic reactors, magnetic bubble materials, intensifying screen materials, etc.

3. Gadolinium oxide can also be used to manufacture capacitors, X-ray intensifying screens, gadolinium gallium garnet materials, ceramics, etc.

Specifications:

Preparation:

The rare earth chloride solution obtained from monazite or mixed rare earth ore is treated by extraction method. First, neodymium and samarium grouping is carried out. The raffinate is used to further lighten rare earth, and the samarium and heavy rare earth are extracted into the organic phase. Rare earth, obtain the rare earth samarium gadolinium enrichment, reduce and extract the europium, adopt the mixed rare earth grouping method to dissolve the samarium gadolinium mixed rare earth, and obtain the gadolinium oxide by oxalic acid precipitation, separation, drying and burning.
