Lithium Carbonate

Product Description:

1.Name : Lithium Carbonate

2.Appearance: White powder

3.Formula: Li

4.Formula weight: 73.891

5.CAS No.: 554-13-2

6. EINECS No.: 209-062-5

7.Density: 2.11 g/cm3

8. Melting point: 720°C

Applications:

1.Lithium carbonate can be used in the manufacture of lithium compounds, enamel and glass. It is the raw material for producing lithium compounds and metallic lithium, and can be used as an electrolytic bath additive for aluminum smelting.

2.It can be used in synthetic rubber, dyes, semiconductors, military Arms industry, television sets, atomic energy, medicine, catalysts, etc.

3.Used for producing sound grade single crystals and optical grade single crystals.

4.It can also be used for treating manic psychosis, making sedatives, etc.

Preparation:

1. Comprehensive utilization of brine: add soda ash to the lithium containing material solution after extracting Barium chloride from the brine to remove calcium and magnesium ions in the material solution, add hydrochloric acid for acidification, evaporate to remove sodium chloride, remove iron, and then add excessive soda ash to precipitate Lithium carbonate. After water washing, centrifugal separation, and drying, Lithium carbonate products are prepared.

2. Lime sintering method: Spodumene concentrate (generally containing 6% Lithium oxide) and limestone are proportioned according to 1: (2.5~3) weight ratio. Mixed and finely ground, sintered at 1150~1250 ℃ to produce lithium aluminate and calcium silicate, crushed by wet grinding, leached Lithium hydroxide with washing solution, settled and filtered, returned or washed to remove the residue, evaporated and concentrated the leaching solution, then added sodium carbonate to produce Lithium carbonate, centrifuged and dried to produce Lithium carbonate products.

3. Using Lithium hydroxide and carbon dioxide as raw materials, high-purity Lithium carbonate can be produced. Lithium sulfate and sodium carbonate can also be used as reactants, but Lithium carbonate is easily soluble in other salt solutions, so the yield is not too high, generally about 75%, and the product also contains a small amount of Lithium sulfate.

4. Sulfuric acid method: molten Spodumene is reacted with sulfuric acid, purified, and then reacted with sodium carbonate.

5. Lime method: reaction of calcined Spodumene with lime milk, purification and reaction with sodium carbonate.

6. By product method: extracted from the mother liquor containing lithium after Barium chloride is produced from well brine.

7. Use industrial Lithium hydroxide as raw material, heat water to dissolve it, filter out the insoluble matter, inject clean carbon dioxide gas into the filtrate while it is hot until no precipitation is generated, filter while it is hot, shake it dry, wash it with hot distilled water until it is qualified, and then dry it at 110 ℃. Dissolve industrial Lithium carbonate in cold water, filter it, boil the filtrate, stop heating, filter it while it is hot, wash it with hot water, shake it dry, dry it, and also make reagent Lithium carbonate.
